Priority Pets FAQ's

What is required for us to board our pets at Priority Pets?

Priority Pets prides itself on providing a safe environment for your pets.  We require all of our clients to sign a liability and consent waiver.  This document contains important information regarding the health and safety of your pets.

Do you require cats to be vaccinated?

We require vaccinations for the health and safety of our feline friends.  The Ontario Veterinary Association recommends cats should be vaccinated.  Core vaccinations includes Rabies and FVRCP. To protect the health and safety of all our cats, we require all cats to be vaccinated for communal cat boarding.  It is also highly recommended to have your cat vaccinated against feline leukemia, and receive flea and tick prevention treatments.

What if my cat is not fully vaccinated can I still use your services?

YES! We can provide your cat with private or semi-private cat boarding services.  Your cat is guaranteed to be the only resident cat in the area to ensure the health and safety of all of our pets.

What happens when you leave your cat with one of our cat sitters?

Your cat will start off exploring their new world.  Cats can be very shy and curious about their new home. This is a very natural process in getting your cat acclimated to their new environment. The time frame can differ from cat to cat, but usually within a few days your cat begins to feel more comfortable.   Follow this link if you are interested in hearing about our testimonials

What should I bring with me to the cat sitter's residence?

You only need to bring food, medications and food bowls.  It is also recommended to bring your emergency contact list and veterinarian information.  You can also bring a few items for your animal, such as their favorite toy, blanket or treats.

What if my cats do not get along with another cat?

We believe that cats are social animals and we make every effort to make the cohabitation process smooth and enjoyable for all our guests. We always ensure that there is one room per cat in our household.  We will separate your cat if required to ensure the safety of all pets.

Will my cat be left alone with other cats in the house?

No. We always insure that there is one room per cat in our residence.  When the owners are home they will have free range of the entire house.  To ensure the safety of all the cats when the owners are away, we will separate the cats and place them in different rooms.

Where will my cat sleep?

We always insure that your cat bed to sleep on.  They are also encouraged to sleep wherever they are comfortable on the bed, couch or sofa.

A traditional animal kennel operates during regular business hours.  After hours there is no or limited supervision of the animals and they are placed in small isolated quarters.  We offer a unique home experience for your family pets that provides the best pet care possible.
